If David Cameron wants this Country to start taking him and his much maligned coalition government seriously then it is surely about time he made a decision and stuck with it.
His rejection of the Leveson enquiry findings serve only to tell us here is a man with just one goal and that is to remain in power at all costs. Why else would he risk a backlash from the whole country by ignoring the Leveson results and findings?. David is playing a very deadly game of poker and at stake is his political credibility and indeed career, he has opted for what he considers the "safe house" of the press. Unfortunately David poor soul you are over a decade too late. Has the demise of "Murdochs's Empire" taught him nothing?. The press are old hat and have as much credibility in the UK as those very selfless comrades you work alongside, this Country is not all full of readers of The Sun David and in fact (thankfully) those numbers are further declining and in any case the majority don't even bother to vote.
Having the courage of your convictions is what makes a politician a good politician and sticking by your wing man through thick and thin (Leveson) would make David a great politician, but once again we have seen a leader who dithers, pouts, then dithers again until his final decision gets as much press coverage as an add for haemorrhoid cream. Gone are the politicians who stood their ground and fought for what they perceived to be right, even if it was'nt always, at least the sight of the leader of this fine country wading in with his opinion and sticking to it is always going to be a vote winner.
Mr Cameron your aides have given you very poor advice. Shock the hell out of all of us and make yet another U turn and follow Leveson's recommendations like the rest of this wonderful country thought you were already doing. If you choose to ignore this advice and stick by your friends in the press in the hope of re-election then think again, traditionally the tabloids are very much fair weather friends and you are starting your own weather front.
